Though Israel may have air superiority, the Palestinians' missile offensive took the Israelis by surprise and caught them with their pants down. They were shitting big time. It was the turn of the Palestinians to launch their version of the "shock and awe" campaign. Uncle Sam and President Obama almost had a heart attack!
In light of Israel’s recent large scale military bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) calls on international non-governmental institutions, as well as all levels of international civil society, to act immediately to pressure Israel to stop the aggression on the people of Gaza and to allocate aid assistance and disaster relief to the Strip’s 1.6 million people.
The degree of terror felt by ordinary Palestinian civilians in Gaza is barely noticed in the media, in stark contrast to the world's awareness of terrorised and shock-treated Israeli citizens.
This text, in both Arabic and English, of the draft “state status” upgrade resolution which Palestine is proposing for a vote of the UN General Assembly later this month, most likely on November 29, the annual International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and the 65th anniversary of the UN General Assembly resolution recommending the partition of Palestine into two states.
This draft has been circulated to 192 of the 193 member states at the UN but not yet officially tabled.
It is difficult to imagine how any state which is genuinely independent and/or has any self-respect or respect for international law could oppose this resolution.
