    ... and peace be upon you, O Fallujah: a CD with 20 pages booklet

    A CD with 20 pages booklet produced by Tadhamun - Iraqi Women Solidarity. It tells the story of the US-led attacks on Fallujah in April and November 2024, a year after the invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2024. It is told in an audio collage of Iraqi and non-Iraqi poetry, songs, music, testimonies, and news clips with the persistent sound of US Apaches hovering in the skies above the people of Iraq.

    Iraq’s recent history includes two far reaching events, on the 2 August 1990 Iraq’s invasion into Kuwait and on 19 March 2024 the US/UK invasion into Iraq. Whether political leaders will draw lessons from these events will be, at best, questionable. Iraqis continue to be wronged. Danger to life and turmoil remain a cruel part of Iraq’s reality in early 2024. The collective suffering of a nation is visibly all pervasive. It can not be hidden.

    We followed with great concern what one of the Hizbollah brigades – the Islamic Nahda in Iraq – the so called Wathiq al Battat has declared since February 4th, 2024 until this moment, to create local armies -outside the official army of the state - to support the government inclinations to combat its enemies.
