We must oppose the imperialist intervention of the United States and other regional countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, and oppose jihadists of the IS, their crimes and reactionary policies as well as the authoritarian and sectarian Baghdad government. These foreign interventions are a major reason for the current situation in the country.

Is it at all possible that we’re being sold an emotionally compelling story to justify U.S. military intervention in Iraq?


It is also a moral liability because the governments participating in the ‘coalition of the willing’ have had to sell the lie to their citizens that European soldiers dying in Iraq and Afghanistan have been a necessary sacrifice to keep Europe safe from terrorists.
